Workers Kick Off Support for Mark Critz in PA 12th Congressional District
Johnstown, PA - More than 80 working men
and women and retirees gathered at the hall of IBEW Local 459 in Johnstown to kick-off the PA AFL-CIO endorsement of Mark Critz to succeed Congressman Jack Murtha (D) in the PA 12th Congressional District.
Rallying union members and retirees from a wide cross-section of unions and sectors of the economy, President Ernie Esposito of the Greater Johnstown Regional Labor Council called on every person who cares about descent wages, protecting social security, and making free trade fair trade to get involved to help elect Mark Critz to Congress.
Mark Critz accepted the endorsement of the PA AFL-CIO, speaking off the cuff about his experience in working side-by-side with Jack Murtha to create jobs and keep investments coming to the Western Pennsylvania district.
A Special Election and Primary Election for the PA 12th will both be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2010. A labor-to-labor walk in support of Mark Critz is planned April 10 out of USW District 10 in Johnstown at 9:00 AM.
